| The Philippine National Police Civil Sevice Group-Firearms and Explosives Division has bestowed a Special Service Recognition Award upon the United Airsoft Alliance for its valuable service rendered to the PNP in the drafting of the Airsoft Implementing Rules, Assistance in the drafting of firearms legislation for the Philippine Congress and Senate, and the UAA Mass airsoft Registration and information programs. The Award is given on occasion of the 28th Anniversary of the Philippine National Police Civil Security Group on 27 October 2008 by General Ireno Bacolod, Chief Civil Security Group Philippine National Police and Chief of the Philippine National Police Gen. Jesus Versoza.
This honor is a first time that such an award has been granted by the Philippine National Police for the Philippine Airsoft Community, which is a direct result of the lobbying efforts of UAA to legalize the sport of airsoft in the country, which was approved last January 2008 by then Chief of the PNP and airsoft player, Gen. Avelino Razon. Consequently, on account of such efforts the ties between the airsoft community and the police are closer than ever, resulting in less harrassments and uncertainty on the part of airsoft players. This is a clear sign that the PNP now fully supports airsoft as a legalized sport in the country.
UAA will continue to support and work hand-in-hand with the Philippine National Police in upcoming projects next year such as symposia and information campaigns, and revision and amendment of rules and regulations pertaining to firearms and airsoft. | |
